Visit Balaton from Budapest, travel in safe and visit one of the most popular places in Hungary!
Balaton, the “Hungarian sea” is one of the largest lakes is Europe and the main holiday destination in Hungary. The first stop of this excursion is Herend where we visit the world-famous porcelain manufactory and you will learn the different phases how this fine porcelain is made. Afterward, you will have the possibility to shop in the factory store. The second stop is the Tihany Peninsula, the first nature reserve of Hungary.
After the guided walk in the charming little town on the peninsula in your free time, you will have the possibility to visit the famous monastery founded in 1055 and do some souvenir shopping. The last stop of this excursion is the oldest spa resort by the lake, Balatonfüred. During the excursion, there will be a lunch break to enjoy a delicious Hungarian meal. The tour ends in the city center.

Swimming in the lake was not included in the program but everything else was there. I loved the several cultural programs; my favourite one was the old monastery in Tihany. And I must mention the delicious Hungarian food which we tasted. I haven’t tried it before and I was warned that it could be reallly strong… well, there were seasons, not a little, but it was fantastic! Indian cuisine is my top one, but your cuisine won the second place!
