During our few-hours-trip, you’ll receive a foretaste of the most wonderful buildings and parks of the Hungarian capital city. The program includes the House of the Hungarian Parliament; the Castle District, which contains lots of buildings from the middle ages and the 19th century; the imposing St Stephen’s Basilica, in which classical concerts are often organized, or the greatest synagogue in Europe, which can be found in the Dohány street. Further interesting items are included such as roaming in the City Park or in the enormous and beautiful Central Market, adoring the view from the Citadel, or a pleasant walk in the Heroes’ Square.
The Danube Bend is one of the most amazing places in the country, where you can enjoy both the magnificent natural environment and various cultural programs. During our „Blue Danube” tour, we’ll visit the three most famous cities. Esztergom is the center of the Hungarian Catholic Church. The 100-meter-high basilica is the highest building in the country and it was built in Classical style. However, not only its sizes are amazing: the old walls hide several cultural treasures. For example, the Bakócz-chapel, which is one of the most significant creatures of the Hungarian Renaissance.
In the crypt, famous Hungarian clerics are buried such as János Vitéz who was the educator of the young Mathias king or József Mindszenty who had some role in the revolution and fight for freedom in 1956. Both the medieval castle and the peerless view are must-have experiences in Visegrád. Here is the Hercule-fountain made by Giovanni Dalmata who was one of the most talented sculptors in the 15th century in Rome. This is made from red marble and can be seen on the background of a Hungarian banknote (1000 HUF). The tiny Baroque city, Szentendre, is known about its various museums. Among others, you can see Margit Kovács’ ceramic sculptures or a whole exhibition which is dedicated to marzipan.
Visiting the towns near the Lake Balaton is a little bit longer tour than discovering the Danube Bend, but it’s also worth booking. In the porcelain manufacture of Herend, you can adore not only the wonderful products but also the process of making them. The next stop is Tihany, where you can visit the monastery found in 1055. Its deed of the foundation is one of the oldest Hungarian extant records. The Tihany peninsula is the first nature reserve in Hungary, so we recommend to adore the natural values besides the cultural ones. Of course, the denominator Balaton won’t be missed: we’ll have a pleasant, traditional lunch in Balatonfüred, which is the oldest holiday resort in the region.
The Austrian capital city can be found only 240 km from Budapest. During our trip there, you’ll see the most famous sights of Vienna: the City Park, the Burgtheater, the Opera House, the Stephansdome, or the Hofburg are only some of the items. We also offer optional programs such as shopping at the Mariahilfer Strasse, walking in the Prater, or visiting the Castle of Schönbrunn, which Empress Sissy loved so much.
Although the Slovak capital city may not be mentioned among the most common tourist resorts, it offers several exciting programs. During the one-day-long tour, you’ll see all the main sights of the city. Many memories of history can be found in the picturesque old town, for example, the Michael gate, which is the sole memento of the original, medieval town wall. The castle and the Grassalkovich Palace are must-have sights; the latter one was built in Rococo style in the 18th century. The Primate’s Palace is also worth visiting; this is said to be one of the most wonderful buildings in Bratislava. Each book that was published in Bratislava between 1611 and 1622 was printed there.
